Message: Dave, you have such crocodile tears running down your face and the season has not even started. I mean you are claiming that NASCAR is trying to give Jeff Gordon another championshiop and they have not even raced one lap on their official schedule. Hmm, to me it sounds like somebody is lining up their excuses well ahead of time in case Gordon has another one of his championship runs. But, then again, with being a Elliott and CornChucker fan, you are used to making excuses early and often. Do not stray from what you know best.

Not to worry, there is still room on the bandwagon, but you do not want to wait too long. Come to the light, you will see that it is okay. Dave, stop cheering for those losers and hook up with a winner for once in your life. C'mon, you can do it, I have confidence in you. Do not be afraid.

Message: Okay Dave, the gig is up, so you can surely stop whining. First of all, you can quit badmouthing Jeff Gordon. I know that you picked him in another league, so he must not be the devils' spawn like you would want everybody to believe. Second of all, if you think that Chevy's have that big of an advantage, then why didn't you draft more than just one. I mean if I was trying to win this contest and I truly believed that Chevy had a rule advantage, then I would go all out and draft as many as I could. So Dave, I have the same comment that Todd Parrot had for the Chevy drivers when Ford had an aerodynamic advantage and NASCAR would not fix it. "Shut up and race".

Message: Hmm, does somebody want to break the bad news to Rob. We have no sportsmanship award in this league. As a matter-of-fact, if you do not speak up and say something (in Dave's case, talk trash), then we usually forget about you. For instance, Kenman has been in the league for 2 years and sometimes I even forget about it. Then there is Dave.....Jeez, you know he is there because he will never shut up or quit his sniveling whining. LOL But Rob, we just hope that you have fun and that it is enjoyable for you. As far as being a rookie in the league, there is no real mystery to it. You will soon see that everybody will have their terrible weeks. I mean after all, when you are relying on people that you have absolutely no control over (that is unless you believe in the power of prayer), then you will have bad weeks and you will have good weeks. Your team will have plenty of success this season. However, I think that Harvick is going to be treated roughly by the veterans this year. A lot of veterans are not happy with his aggressive style from last year. I think that they cut him a break last year with him taking over for Earnhardt. But, I believe that this year they will not cut him any slack, at all. But, then again, that is just my opinion. If you have any questions about the league feel free to ask. I can lie to you as well as anybody. LOL

Message: Well now that I am back from Daytona I will be back to my daily journal on your web page!!! First of all, for the first time in a long time James and I agree on one thing. I too think it will be a long year for Kevin. Personally if he were put in the wall every race I would not shed a tear over it. All his actions last year will haunt him this year. 2nd, Rob you better learn that Jeff Gordon will put any driver in the wall to get the win ( He reminds me of Dale E. #3). So if your driver is 1st and Jeff Gordon is behind him get ready for a yellow flag!!!!!!! 3rd. I can not believe I lost to James again. Like they always say ( I would rather be LUCKY then good) This will be James saying again this year!!!!!!!!! Did everyone see the Dodge Power this weekend. They Kicked some ass!!! It is a good thing that Jeff got taken out by Marlin with a tap because the Dodge boys were coming and would have blew by him anyway!!!!! My man Bill had a good showing, James I bet you wish Dale Jr. was half the driver as Bill!!!! As for the big debate on the areo package the big gun chevy drivers must have thought they were on a road coarse!!!! They kept trying to turn RIGHT also?????? Right into the WALL!!!! HA, HA, HA!!!! Maybe by the Pepsi 400 they will figure it out??? All in all I had a great time down there Jake and got to meet and get Autograph's from Ward Burton before the race. We did not make it to the pits, I was looking forward to that, maybe next time. Dodge Power 9

Message: Really Dave, I think that is an issue that we will not have to worry about. I mean, let's be a bit realistic here. Then again, with all of the breaks that NASCAR is giving to the Dodge's we do know that NASCAR wants to see Dodge in the winner's circle. But, then again, the only way that Bill would win would be if he cheated even more than that or else if everybody else crashed out. But, all-in-all, it is not very realistic, so you can just keep dreaming your litte fairy tale.

Hey, it must be pretty tough to have a team so talented that you are able to sit a poll winner and still do very well. But, you are so accustomed to only thinking of three racers, you surely would not know anything about that. I mean last year, you never played your fourth racer. So, do not try to sound intelligent and think that you are able to run some other person's more talented team. Message: Well now that I have calmed down lets review the race. First of all congrats to Kenman who "Kicked My _SS". By the way Kenman my record is 0-2. It may have been better if I would have played with 3 drivers!!! Of coarse when Jeff Gordon decides to run through one of my drivers and take out 3 others, well some would say "thats racing" I say "Thats Jeff". Then he starts to beat up on Ward, what's up with that????. I still think his proudest moment was when he slid (backwards) into his pit stall, what a moron!!!!!!!!!!. At least he did not win the race!!! usually after a performance like today he will win the race also. Well James how did Robby Gordon do for you today?? I'll tell you I was really impressed for most the race but, I knew it was to good to be true!!! He tock himself out trying to take someone else out. Its pretty bad when after finishing the race under yellow, Marlin makes a comment about Robby Gordon causeing another foolish yellow for the second week in a row. James I not picking on you remember I had him last year and had the same results. He may do good on the road courses but what a price to pay until then. What a foolish move I made by sitting Jeff Green. This was one of his best tracks. Then we have Dale Jarrett going out with a bad motor??? That never happens!!! I think I may be in for a long season. I have not yet seen the talent of Casey . He has not finished a race yet with out getting taken out. Kenman where did Bobby Hamilton come from if it's not a super speedway he is never a contender??? Oh well. Sandy I realize Bill finished 11th but did you see Jeff Green. He was 5th in the Busch race, and if he did not lose a cyclinder at the end of the race today he would have been in the top 5 easy. Just thought I would mention it. I'll be back Dodge 9. It is a new race next week.

It is after the 4th week of the season. But, the way that you are going, you may get a good opportunity since the draft order is from last to first.

I think if Jeff ever wins a race this year his car will never pass the post inspection. It appears this year he has an extra heavy duty front bumper. He will be to low in the front end!!!!!!!!! And his talent to slide backwards into his pit stall this Sunday speaks for itself. Maybe he still had paint chips covering his windshield from hitting Casey or Ward???? I'm not sure. Any way we will see how he recovers this weekend. Watch Jeff Green this weekend he will supprise you. Just thought I'd mention that. Dodge 9

Message: Oh Dave. First and foremost, please do not be our guest book police and criticize others for their postings. I mean if I instituted a spell checker on here, then you would never be able to post any messages as they would never pass the spell check. So, please be careful when you are casting stones at others. Dave, I have known you for many many years. You are surely a very opinionated individual and a loyal fan of your teams. But, does it seem strange to you that whatever team is the best (which your team rarely is) you have deemed to be evil and have major problems with. I mean you are a Husker fan and you think that the Miami Hurricanes are a team that has nothing but bad associated with it. Hmm, Nebraska surely has had more than its' share of problems and controversy. They used to be known to have a clean program, but that changed several years ago with a fellow by the name of Lawrence Phillips and it has not let up since then. So, just realize that no team or driver is perfect. The way that you slur Jeff Gordon you would think that you have a personal vendetta against him more vile then any that I could possibly print here. I mean, you speak of him like he was an individual that stole your wife and ran off with her. Let's get real and keep it in perspective. He is a driver just like the other 42 drivers out there. True, he has done some boneheaded things out there, but then again so has any other competitive driver that has gotten behind the wheel of a racecar. I mean, just ask my brother and dad, I am sure they have done their share of boneheaded things out on the track. Plus, I am sure that either one of them would have endured more boneheaded moves if it guaranteed more even more success. But, then again, I guess that you narrow focus will not allow you to look at things objectively, just in the shallow tunnel that your mind seems to live in.

Message: James: It would be a BORING world if we all just shook our heads and agreed with each other. Sure I get under people’s skin sometimes but what the heck. We all have are opinions. Some of us voice them when we should not. You should have known I would use the guest book as an anti-Gordon billboard. I thought I was calm this year so far. (nothing like last year) Of coarse it is only the 3rd week and I am at a job where computer access is in my favor now so you and I may have a long season. It appeared to me when I was at Daytona you would be in a minority and I would be in the majority. If you do not believe me ask Jake he will tell you what the majority of the fans think of Jeff Gordon. Most of them would rather see him in the wall, I just want him to clean up his driving this year. As for the Nebraska issue, one of Nebraska’s top recruits (wide receiver) was charged with 3 counts of sexual assault on 2-26-02. I think he should be kicked off the team before he is on it!!!! That’s crazy I would never defend that. I cannot believe these kids, they have the world by the nuts and then they do things like that. All in all the bottom line is you either like Jeff Gordon or you hate him there is no in between. I think you know where I stand. Sure he is a money maker and will win races but I do not have to like him. Practice a lot on your golf game this year so you and I can meet on the coarse. The odds are very good in seeing a golf club being broken or tossed we should bring a camera. Have a good week and good luck. I am looking forward to our next match. Dave

Message: Hey check this out!!!! It's not one of MTV's "Celebrity Deathmatches." It's not on the next episode of "Springer." And it's not something that Page 2 dreamed up with its wild imagination. This is for real, folks: Amy Fisher and Tonya Harding will indeed enter the ring for a boxing match during a one-hour Fox special on March 13. "This is legitimate. We'll have a real referee, a real doctor, real announcers. To all the world, this will be a real boxing match," Mike Darnell, Fox's alternative-programming chief, told USA Today. Fisher and Harding, who will wear weighted gloves and protective headgear, will headline a three-fight card that will also feature a bout between Danny Bonaduce of "Partridge Family" fame and Barry Williams from "The Brady Bunch." With all due respect to "Danny Partridge" and "Greg Brady," we're only concerned with the main event. So, Page 2 decided to see how these two battling bimbos match up in our "Tale of the Trash."

I can see how this year is panning out if you play me you not only will win but you will set a High Score for the season!!!!!!!!!!!! What a year this is going to be. James, I think something is going to happen about the Dodge and Fords. The interviews I saw last night from the Chevy drivers were not pretty towards NASCAR!!!! The one I like the most was Kevin Havick, he said this race was a charity race for Dodge and ford and we (The Chevy drivers) will now have to play the game and start to wine and cry to get the cars even. Then there is the Marlin issue, (speeding down pitrow without a penalty) I personally think it was handled O.K. but others seemed quite upset!!! Everyone is saying Nascar does what ever they want. see ya Dodge 9

Message: Dave, I personally believe that NASCAR needs to see a Dodge compete and even possibly win the championship. It would be good for the growth of the sport. I think that it is pretty obvious that the Chevy's are at a disadvantage. This was probably the best race for judging each car manufacturer. The first two races were accident marred. However, this one was clean and was a good indication of what each manufacturer has. Let's see, there was 1 Chevy in the top 14, hmmm..... No Chevy assumed the lead by passing another car on the track, hmmm..... The power Chevy's of Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr and Kevin Harvick were never a factor and even seemed to be moving backwards, hmmm. There is 1 Chevy in the top 12 in points, hmmm. But, I am sure that this is all just a coincidence and that all car manufacturers are surely even (they have to be, NASCAR says that it is so). Even the Pontiacs are complaining about having a disadvantage, but Stewart was competitive all day long and just got caught up in pit strategy. There were only 2 Pontiacs in the top 12, but then again, there were only 5 Pontiacs in the entire race. So, I think that is fairly representative. As far as Sterling Marlin, he is a curd dog liar. He said at Daytona that he did not realize that it was illegal to get out of his car on the red flag stop. Now, he says that his tach was not working when he was speeding down pit road, but it did for the rest of the race after that. Hmm, can you say, "liar"... I knew you could. Something about that fellow I do not like. I think that he should be a politician because he never seems to tell the truth on anything. Some of it is tongue-in-cheek, but it is a lie all the same. As far as his penalty... well, NASCAR screwed up and I personally think that the penalty should have been assessed on his next green flag pit stop. I mean that would have put him back in traffic and we saw what it was like when Tony Stewart was back in traffic. Regardless, I think that NASCAR helped Dodge out to a victory in this race.

Message: This is just a reminder to the league. This is the fourth week of the season and after this race you will be able to drop any drivers from their current roster and pick up any available drivers. There will be a $2 charge for any drivers picked up. This process starts this week and continues through the end of the season. The way that it works is that the order with which to drop/pickup is reverse standings order. So, the team in 8th place has the first opportunity to select, then 7th place and continues up the standings. This will start on each Wednesday at 8:00 CST. If you are interested in picking up a driver, then you just need to note it on this guest book before the designated time (Wednesday, 8:00 AM CST). Just say that you are interested. Do NOT say who you want to pick up at this time. Starting at 8:00 on Wednesday, each team that is interested will start to pick in reverse standings order as soon as they can. So, for instance, if Dave is still in last place after this week and he declares that he wants to pick up a driver, then he has to state it on this board before Wednesday (8:00 AM CST). Then, since he is in last place, he would announce on this board who he wants to drop and then who he wants to pick up anytime after Wednesday (8:00 AM CST). Preferably, he will log on and select in a semi-timely manner so as to give others interested enough time to pick before our race the following week. Hopefully, I have not confused each of you too much and this came across in an understandable manner. If anybody has any questions, please not them in this forum. If not, then let's go out and race and have some fun.

Message: Another note for the league. I have not finished the rules for the league (it is about time). You can get to them from the front page of this website. I have not scoured them line-by-line just yet. So, if somebody see anything that they do not think to be correct or that is in question, please let me know and I will look at it. But, for right now, these are our guidelines for the league.

That way I would move into last place and I would get the first pick and be able to steal Steve Park. But, I am hoping that you pull off a big upset and I get that first pick. That would really irritate you. LOL

Message: Dave, you are smug about the whole thing. The least that you could do is to do at least a little research on drivers that you would like on your team. I mean the individual's name is NOT Steve Parks, it is Steve Park. Jeez, have enough respect for the sport to at least know the names of the drivers in it. I really did not want him anyway, but I just thought it to be kind of cheesy to sit your best racer so as to be able to hopefully intentionally lose a race and then to pick up a driver. But, if you are willing to be a loser in that aspect, then that is just the way that it is done. So, is that the way that Nebraska football does it is to lose intentionally to be able to leverage it down the road. Hmm, interesting. All I know is that I would never have intentionally tried to take a loss and I would be willing to bet that nobody else in this league would have done that either. Just between you and me, I hope that Steve Park bombs out and you end up with egg all over your face. It would be only fair. By the way Kenman, I guess that I basically called it on the nose. Hmm, maybe I do know something about this sport, after all.

Message: James: Incase you have not noticed the season is 36 races. I was already 0-3 to go 0-4 to get the chance to trade Casey for Steve was a simple decision. A moron would have done that. As it turns out it would not have mattered who I played. And if my new "team member" falls on his face, take a hard look at Casey and tell me what I lost. Normally you would give me a speech on wishing someone bad luck however I think you realize your mistake. It sound like your temper got the best of you. As for your rule issue the last time I looked 0 is less then 1 which put me into last place ALONE. I think I see what you are concerned about Yes I have scored more points then Rob however I am still in last place. The point issue only comes into play if there would have been a tie for last place!!!!! That would be 1-3 and 1-3. That is a tie. Not 0-4 and 1-3!!! I am posting the rules so you will not have to go back and check them. I know you are trying to get me pissed and it is somewhat working!!! Not because of the rule thing, but because of the way I went about getting Steve. I will now have 32 races to makeup for 1 additional loss??? Give me a break. I personally think your scared of are next match, I can feel you shakeing here in Sergeant Bluff!!!! Have a good week and here are the rules. Who knows I may not even keep Steve????? If you know what I mean!!! The order of picking up drivers will be backwards order from the season standings. The commissioner must be notified on the website by Tuesday at 7:00 PM EST (6:00 PM CST) of the week of a teams’ intent to pick up a new driver. The purpose for this is so the commissioner has time to properly set the order for picking up new drivers in the case of more than one team looking to pickup a new driver(s). The commissioner can be notified via the website. In the case the commissioner is not notified of a teams’ intent to pick up a new driver(s), pursuant to Rule 2, section n, that team will be allowed to pick up a driver, but they may or may not be able to draft in their normal order. This will depend on the timeframe with which the commissioner was notified. In the case of a TIE in the standings, the following criteria will be used to decide who chooses first: 1) Total points scored to date (lowest point total chooses first) 2) Total points given up to date (highest points given up chooses first)

Message: Okay team owners, we have an incident on our hands that needs to go go a owner's vote. There will be 5 owners voting and the majority will make the decision. Big Dave, Kenman, and James will NOT vote. The teams that will be voting will be Little Jake, Big Jake, Sharon, Sandy, and Rob. Here is the issue: Rule 1c states as follows: "Each team will have 4 full-time NASCAR Winston Cup drivers with a full-time ride on their roster at all times". With this rule, Kenman has Todd Bodine on his roster. As of the start of the MBNA America 500, Todd Bodine no longer had a full-time ride because of losing sponsorship. The rule is pretty straightforward, however what is NOT stated is when that team is supposed to pick up a driver. It gets somewhat confusing in the aspect that Kenman's team team was not official by the rules at the beginning of the race, however normal picking up/dropping a driver is allowed after the race. If he has the right to make his team official before the race, then it is an easy choice. However, if he has to wait until after the race, should Kenman assume his normal position based on standings or should he be allowed to draft first to make his team official. This is the situation. For those 5 teams that need to vote, please read this very carefully and make your vote by posting a comment here in the guest book. If any of those 5 have any questions on this situation or of any of the text herein, please also drop me a message here in the guest book. If needed, the official rules can be accessed from the front page of this website. Let's take care of this as quickly as possible so that we can move on to other things. Thank you.

Message: James: Now that I have calmed down I still do not see the problem. Yes I see the rule you are talking about, however I see no question from Ken even asking what to do. I would be somewhat sympathetic for Ken if there were a big concern on his part about this last week when everyone new he was out of a ride however there was no contact. As you stated in your message the rule is straightforward. Everything is handled through this sight? And after the 4th week of play here is how, and the order you use to pickup players. Etc. I did not see any “however if this happens” clauses. Perfect example was last year when Dale Sr. dies Tommy did not contact you and Sandy gets Kevin Harvick. Am I not seeing the issue correctly? Let the cards fall and life goes on after that. Disappointed Dodge 9

Message: Dave, you are not seeing it correctly. Tommy got the opportunity to pick up a driver before the second week of the season (note: this was prior to original dropping/picking up of a driver after the fourth week). Tommy had the opportunity to pick up Harvick, but he chose not to. At the fourth week, he wanted to drop that driver (I do not remember who it was) and pick up Harvick. However, he had already exercised his option to pick up a driver, he just made a mistake and picked up the wrong driver at that time. But, please bear in mind that he picked up a driver immediately even before the next race of the season. The reason for my bringing it up is because this situation was not quite as clear. I just realized as I was plugging in the finishes that Kenman had an illegal team. Now, that is my fault for not recognizing it earlier, but I do the best that I can. Honestly Dave, this is truly not against you. It is trying to keep the league as correct and accurate as possible. In my perfect world, Kenman picks first, selects Elliott Sadler and then you select Steve Park. I do not want to see anybody get hurt by this. But, the rule is in place, but is not defined clearly enough, once again, my fault (see previous statement on not being perfect). It also says in the rules under Section 10. Special Cases, Section c: "For any situations not covered by these specific set of rules, a league vote will be taken". Sandy, the reason that not all teams get to vote, is because this involves two of the teams, and I do not want to appear to want to take Dave's pick away. So, that leaves an odd number of teams which guarantees a majority one way or another. So, I have only presented the facts and it is up to the league (those that are not immediately involved) to make the decison. Any other questions?

Message: Dave, as far as Ken not raising a concern, that is not the point. I am the commissioner and it is my job to make sure that they league runs as correctly as possible. It has nothing to do with what people complain or do not complain about, but rather whether or not the rules are being followed as intended. I know that you are upset, but I am just trying to do what is right and then moving on. By the way Dave, if a team had lost its' ride in either the first or second week of the season, then should they have to wait until the fourth week to make their team legal? The only reason that this is a confusing issue is because it is the fourth week and it coincides with the first week of being able to drop/pickup a driver.

Message: One more clarification on the Tommy issue. He did have the opportunity to pick up Harvick before the second week. He DID pick up a driver prior to the second week, but he himself chose not to pick up Harvick. I even recommended personally to him to pick him up. But, he did not want Harvick until he saw how good he was (which took a couple of weeks). So, in the fourth week when it came time to drop/pickup drivers, he wanted to get Harvick, but at this time it defaulted to standings since he had already exercised his option to replace Earnhardt with a different driver. Thus, Sandy was lower in points and got the first opportunity to pickup Harvick.

Message: I have a concern about teams losing their sponsors... Should we allow them a few weeks to get picked up by another sponsor or immediately have to pick a new driver? What if this happens in the future some more and we run into this problem again? What if Ken's driver gets picked up by another sponser before next weeks race and he wants him back? I think if you are at the bottom of the draft pick after the 4 weeks are up, you should get first pick. Well I guess that my vote would be that Dave gets to pick before Ken. Thanks for any info on this... (this is all new to me so my coach is helping me out a bit.)

Message: Sandy, you asked what do we do if a driver loses his sponsorhip in the future. Well, the thing that is going to frustrate me about this whole issue is that nobody is reading or cares about the rules. Once again, the rule clearly states: "Each team will have 4 full-time NASCAR Winston Cup drivers with a full-time ride on their roster at all times.". Where is the gray area in that. It does not cover special circumstances about losing sponsorship. It clearly states, "AT ALL TIMES". I do not find this difficult and am appalled by the fact that nobody really cares about the rules because nobody is bothering to read them. They are basing this whole thing as whether or not they think that Dave deserves help. This is not about Dave, it is about the rules, but nobody will look at it that way. I am disappointed in the way that everybody is looking at this. I spend many hours a week working on this and I have always done and will continue to do what is best for the league as decided by the rules. This is NOT about I do not want Dave to get Steve Park. This is about the league has to do (or rather SHOULD do) what is right by the context of the rules. As I stated earlier, it would be perfect if Kenman picked first and picked Elliott Sadler and then Dave got his ever so precious Steve Park. People, please try to take personal feelings out of this and concentrate on the rules. But, I know people are like....well, Kenman is in first place and does not need the help and Dave is in last place and it would be better for the league if Dave got the help. That is NOT the way to think about this. If somebody believes that it is, well then I (as commissioner) is surely not needed because we will not need rules and we won't need to involve money because that makes it too complicated. I am not going to say more as I am peeved and I could care less about this entire league right now.

The person that had Todd Bodine should get first pick because Todd is out and the sponsorship for the team is not looking good at this time from what was set on Totally Nascar last night. It does not make sense to me for someone that already has 4 full time drivers get first draft pick when they have 4 drivers, is someone afraid the person that has Todd will pick the draft pick they want, lets act like adults and stick to rules 4 full time drivers. that is not hard to understand.
